India Evangelical Team (IET) is a team of passionately committed men and women, devout followers of Jesus Christ; serving Him by fulfilling the Great Commission among the unreached peoples of South East Asia. Our primary call is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who have never heard His name and to disciple them to become faithful followers of Christ.
From its humble beginnings in 1972, IET has grown to become one of the largest and fastest growing indigenous ministry movements in South East Asia.
OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is to be a community of faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who strive to live a life that glorifies Him in all that we are and do. God has called us to serve Him by leading Gospel transformation among the unreached and oppressed in South East Asia with the truth and love of Jesus Christ. We do this in partnership with the global body of Jesus Christ.
OUR FOUNDER
Dr P. G. Vargis is the founder of Indian Evangelical Team. He was born in a remote village in South India. His father practiced a syncretistic faith of eastern orthodox Christianity. As a young man, P. G. tried to find meaning in all kinds of religion, including flirtation with black magic. Disenchanted, he became an atheist. He soon began to indulge in various vices.
